V02 Max Step Box Fitness Tester
The fitness measuring step box system, called the "Accura 6-11™ VO2max", is used to determine cardiovascular fitness levels of recruits, athletes, job candidates, etc. This product is listed and available for sale on ORBITER's web site or through our GSA contract. Cardiovascular fitness is quantified by a V02max value. This number is recognized throughout the medical community as a standard measurement of fitness.
The Accura 6-11 VO2max system is a portable, self-contained stepping-ability capacity monitor. This sub-maximal test is a less invasive and viable alternative to more expensive, mask-with-hose, gas analyzer systems that can be as much as $60,000.
The Accura 6-11 is simple and entails a sensor on the box, a heart rate monitor and easy-to-use software. Our protocol involves a six-minute sub-maximal test on an eleven-inch box. Our sub-maximal test is ideal for fitness professionals who may not want to subject clients or job applicants to the rigors of a maximal test. In fact, the American College of Sports Medicine, suggests that most populations can be administered a sub-maximal test without the presence of a medical doctor.
The Accura 6-11 step box fitness system will generate a V02max value in ml/kg/min and determines the user's physical working capacity. For example, firefighters typically must score 42 ml/kg/min or higher to gain employment. The test enables you to monitor and calculate the maximum capacity of your personnel to carry their body weight (and gear if necessary) while repeatedly stepping up. The monitor provides instant, accurate, printed feedback of aerobic capacity.
